We don't just configure and format spreadsheets; we do what many don't even realize is possible. We implement complex data retrieval and algorithms that furnish detailed and interactive answers with just the push of a button. We can rapidly prototype applications using a scripting technology such as VBA; or if higher-performing applications are needed from the context of a spreadsheet, we can also build faster-executing worksheet functions using C++ (by means of the "XLL" or "UNO" SDKs).

JavaScript has matured into the "application glue" of the Internet browser. We take care to test JavaScript implementations for crossbrowser compatibility and reliability. jQuery is a robust JavaScript library that furnishes a number of user interface controls (or "widgets") that lets one assemble robust browser-based interfaces.
JSON is a standard API for calling routines (or "services") that might run on various servers across the Internet, or even just on one's local workstation. This is frequently used in JavaScript AJAX calls (hence its name: JavaScript Object Notation). The BitGainer application mentioned above performs JSON calls directly from Excel.
PDO (PHP Data Objects) is a generalized API that allows one to write a PHP web application that can interact with various database engines. If at some point you choose to use a different SQL provider, provided the PDO API was used correctly, the PHP application will run on the new SQL engine with little or no rewrite required. Another advantage of PDO is the benefit of code-reuse: if you need a database routine on two different SQL architectures, you can write it once to use PDO and get the benefit of its operation on multiple platforms. Presenty PDO supports postgreSQL, mySQL, Oracle SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, Sybase, Informix, Firebird, Interbase, and SQLite.
PANDAS is an API for the Python programming language that facilitates access to a wide variety of data formats, thus allowing you to quickly perform analysis using any of the considerable number of packages that Python now has.
